ProMiles^® announces TRUCKMILES™ for drivers - owner/operators

Bridge City - March 2001 - Tony Stroncheck, President of ProMiles, today announced the release of the company's latest product, TruckMiles™ on CD-ROM. Designed specifically for company drivers and owner/operators, TruckMiles™ joins the ProMiles Software Development Corporation (PSDC) software line as an alternative to the popular ProMiles^® Mileage & Routing Guide.

According to Stroncheck, "Over the past several years we received countless requests for an even more affordable program". Traditionally, software has been developed for fleet operations. However, an increase in the number of company drivers and owner/operators who carry laptop computers has created a large and important market. With the majority of requests coming from drivers with limited computer experience, TruckMiles™ was designed to use a "wizard" to walk users through the routing process.

TruckMiles™ has existed for several years as an Internet based application, built on the same powerful database engine as ProMiles^® Mileage & Routing Guide and is the only truck routing product designed specifically for the driver/owner/operator. We decided to offer TruckMiles™ on CD due a large number of requests from customers who do not have full-time access to the Internet", said Stroncheck. In doing so, features such as the ability to choose routing methods and the Profit Margin Estimator, that are so well liked in the Internet application are included and extra features such as the ability to save and reload trips and an Expense Calendar have been added. Canadian Postal Codes are an extra feature.

The industry has developed a need for this software over the past few years. The full version of ProMiles^® Mileage & Routing Guide at an affordable $895 was still not a realistic option for company drivers and owner/operators, especially those just starting out. TruckMiles™ allows drivers previously excluded from the market, access to software designed specifically for the trucking industry. "At just under $200 TruckMiles™ offers company drivers and owner/operators an affordable 'in' to today's technology. That's what we're about," said Stroncheck, "developing powerful, accurate, user-friendly products for today's professional drivers, owner/operators and fleets".
